I have been buying some used textbooks for the fall semester online and I found another one for only $5 after shipping yesterday. I get so excited every time!!!
Last night I went to Josh and Mei's house and ate dinner and watched a movie with them. Stayed and talked for hours afterwards and didn't get to bed until 2:30 a.m. So this morning I slept till 10:30. Cleaned house. Played soccer this afternoon, won 2-1! (and I was a goalie for about 5 min.) We voted on a name for our team and we are going to order shirts too. We decided on the "Homer Sirens."
Took Troy for a long walk in the park and played fetch. He was totally wiped out afterwards.

Happy 4th of July!

It's a holiday here, but the restaurant stayed open and we were super busy since most places in town were closed. Good tip day! I took a drive out to the Spit late tonight to see how full the beaches were with tourists camping. It was pretty full but not as packed as I remember from earlier summers. The beach fire smelled so good as I drove by. It was such a beautiful clear evening. Went home and watched a couple movies, both were good. Found some more little tomatoes on my plants. Wonder if I will be able to eat them, I don't know if they will ever turn red.

Jury duty

Last winter, just before going to Hawaii, I got called to jury duty in Juneau. I was able to get an extension, which means they'll call on you again after six months or so. I got some mail from Yakutat today and one of them was a jury duty summons for 10 days from now. I hope they will excuse me now that I live in Homer. Juneau is a long ways away and I really don't want to miss work in the middle of summer.
I have been to the airport in Juneau but that is it. I would love to have time to check out the town one day, but now is just not best time for sightseeing.
Worked 10:30-9:00 p.m. Long day...

Got both my paychecks today. They are so much smaller than when I worked in Yakutat. I miss my large checks... I am still doing OK though. Stayed an hour late at work because we got really busy right before I was leaving and I the boss said I could so I stayed till it slowed down a little.

Slept in this morning and snuggled with Troy. Didn't have to go to work until 10 a.m.
The muscles in my legs are so sore today... The knee is fine, but I can feel where it got whacked, but it will be gone in a few days. Time flew by at the restaurant this morning, lots of customers and I love those days. Before I know it, my shift is done.
Tonight I was taught how to close the photo-shop. It's almost like opening in the morning but reverse. Take out all the turn guides in the photo developer and printers and clean them really good and do all the close down procedures on the computers. It's like opening but in reverse... I'll have it down in a day or two.

This afternoon I played soccer with the other ladies again. It is so fun and I am exhausted after every game from all the running around. Hurt my knee blocking one of the Russian girls trying to score, but it was so worth it. We switch positions a lot but I most often play a defender, I like that position the best.
Took it easy tonight, just sorted some papers etc. A nice restful Sunday before work, work, work again...

(I know it has been forever since I last wrote but I will try to play catch up tonight!)
After work tonight I went to my co-worker Amanda's house and had dinner with her family. She moved to a house last month and she was so excited to show it off. Very cute. I was able to bring Troy and let him run around outside because there is no roads right next to her house. He stayed close the whole time. I am so proud of him. Their dog had to stay inside because she runs off so that made me extra proud....
